DonSound was started as a home business, grown out of a love of the warmth and sound quality of old vinyl records. Unfortunately, vinyl doesn't last forever...
We decided on a somewhat unique re-mastering process...
After several years of trial and error, we use a process consisting of first a through cleaning of the record, then recording it to a computers hard drive and/or analog tape as the beginning of the process.
Once the original material has been safely recorded, it can then be edited by our computer software. We use many software tools to clean-up our new source recording. Including but not limited to:
Surface scratch removal tools, including pop & click reduction processing. Tube EQ and compression systems to restore dynamic range and the warm, rich, original analog sound we love all love.
